Demeter and Persephone
Loyal and loving, you are dedicated to your loved ones, so much so that you might not be able to go on without them. They are more important to you than anything else in the world. Wither it's a child, a friend, a sibling, they light up your life and you are lost without them. But even our loved ones need some space. Sometimes if you love something, you have to let it go.
Demeter was the Goddess of the Harvest. Her daughter Persephone was promised to Hades, the God of the underworld, to be his bride. When he rose up and abducted her, taking her into the underworld, Demeter lamented for her loss and forgot about her duties. The earth turned barren and cold. Seeing this, king of the gods Zeus had to step in. If Persephone would not consent to remaining with Hades, she would be returned to her mother. But as Persephone was to leave the underworld, Hades offered her a pomegranate. Knowing that if she were to eat anything in the underworld, she would have to remain, she ate four seeds before returning to her mother. Because of this, four months out of the year Persephone had to return to her husband in the underworld. During this time her mother's sadness caused the earth to turn barren. This time is known as winter. When Persephone returned to her mother, Demeter's happiness caused the earth to grow fertile and plentiful.
