In those years, he faced many obstacles including monsters, sirens, and the loose of his entire crew before he finally reached home. There, youthful suitors had been attempting to wed his wife, so that they may become King of Ithaca. His wife tried to distract them but could no longer go on, declaring the suitors should compete for her hand in an archery contest. With the help of his son, Odysseus entered the contest, winning. Together, the father and son kill all the suitors as well as twelve of their own household whom had betrayed them. At last, Odysseus was reunited with his wife and was home.
